He has been a part if various humanitarian projects, such as the 2006 World Food Programme walk, which he led. This programme was in aid of fighting child hunger. The five-day walk included climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. He said, "In the 21st century, the most important thing for a child is to learn to read and write.
