Sport Specific Information
When and where did you begin this sport? She first tried athletics at age five in Kingston, Jamaica.
Why this sport? Her first experience of athletics came at a sports day in Kingston, Jamaica. "I started running, and I really loved it growing up. Jamaica has some very good sprinters and it was challenging for me. I was a good sprinter but it was so challenging that if I made the finals I was always seventh or eighth. I decided to try something else, and I asked my coach if she could recommend me to a specialist, a hurdles coach, and she asked him."
