| Other information | CAR ACCIDENT In April 2009, she was hit by a car when crossing the road in the suburb of Takapuna in Auckland, suffering a fractured skull, severe bleeding from the brain and concussion. She had surgery to stem the bleeding. She struggled with low blood pressure and could not articulate her sentences properly during her recovery. She returned to the pool in December 2009 and surpassed the personal bests that she has set prior to the accident. (NZ Herald, 06 Feb 2010) |
