|When and where did you begin this sport?
||He began swimming in 1995 at age 12 with the adaptive sport group at the Newry Leisure Centre in Northern Ireland.
|Why this sport?
||He took up swimming to improve his fitness, and because he enjoyed it. "As an amputee, my parents thought it would be the best type of exercise for me. Later, I wanted to be like the Irish Paralympic swimmer Dave Malone."
