||He took up the sport at age 12 in Perlis, Malaysia.
|Why this sport?
||His father encouraged him to take up the sport. "I was into several sports at school, such as football, athletics and badminton. One day, there was a state coach scouting for diving talents and I just joined out of fun. I went to the try out and was chosen to be on the Perlis state team."
