CONFLICT
He caused some conflict with the Badminton Association of India [BAI] by not attending a training camp held by national coach Gopi Chand. He said he prefers to train on his own in India, and to travel alone to international competitions. However, he backed down on this stance and returned into the fold of Indian badminton.
