He was one of several boxers who were incorrectly judged overweight at the weigh-in for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. He was initially weighed at 700g over his allowed weight and went for a run to try and lose the excess weight. After still being 300g over the weight, he went for another run before being weighed at 1.2kg over the limit. It then became apparent the scales were faulty and that his rapid weight loss was not needed. (theaustralian.com.au, 05 Oct 2010)
He has two tattoos - an Aboriginal flag on his back and a set of lips on his hips. (olympics.com.au, 02 Apr 2012)
