|When and where did you begin this sport?
||In 2007. She hadn't cycled since riding her BMX as a kid growing up in Calder.
|Why this sport?
||She took a year off from judo when a freak accident stopped her competing at the Commonwealth Games in 2002. She kept going to the gym and a conditioning coach she knew who had worked with sprint athletes thought she would be able to cross over to cycling. He harrassed her until she tried it and found she was good at it and loved the thrill.

||A lot of her training is in the gym developing strength. Her training on the bike happens either at the velodrome at Meadowbank, around Portobello Promenade or the science park in Pentlands. She has 3-4 sessions of bike work a week and 2 gym sessions. Each session is between 1-1.5 hours.
She also cycles to and from work.

||She practiced judo for 18 years representing Scotland and Great Britain as a junior and senior. She was set to compete at the 2002 Commonwealth Games before she broke her leg. She was so disappointed she took a year off to focus on university studies. (edinburghnews.scotsman.com, 03 Aug 2010)
