In May 2009 she and twin sister Nicole stated that at the end of that year, at age 18, they would consider retiring because "we're getting heavier, and it's taking us longer to recover after each training." (schoolbag.sg, 18 May 2009).

SEA GAMES HISTORY
In the 2007 SEA Games in Thailand she created history with her twin sister, Nicole, by becoming the first pair of siblings to be crowned joint-gold medallists in gymnastics after achieving the same score in the Women's All-Around Event. "It felt really sweet because I've never had a joint gold with my sister before," she said. (moe.gov.sg, 25 Jun 2008, channelnewsasia.com, 12 Dec 2007).
