Why this sport? His teachers and coaches pushed him into it and at that time, he had no choice. He fell in love with the sport because of its mix of physicality with touch and grace.

He is part of the Toquaht First Nation, an aboriginal tribe [Nuu-Chah-Nulth tribe], that has lived on the west coast of Vancouver Island, Canada, for an estimated 10, 000 years. His reason for wanting to become a teacher is to work within the community motivating youths to pursue athletic goals.
