She competed for Kazakhstan at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney but competed for Russia between 2001 and 2004 after her husband was appointed the Russian national team coach. After failing to gain qualification for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens she followed her husband to Australia after he was handed the Australian national team job. She got Australian citizenship in 2005 and competed for them in the 2008 Olympic Games in Bejing. (Beijing, 2008 )
