Injuries Broken left shoulder in 2008,snapped bicep tendon and dislocation of humerus. The whole left side of his leg had no skin on it from ankle to hip. It cost £13,000, 10 weeks off and 3 operations.

Training Regime Regular sessions involve turbo for an hour, with intervals, 3 minutes on – seven of them, then two hours at threshold or just above, followed by an hour behind the motorbike. Sessions at the Alkmaar velodrome in the Netherlands for training and testing as it’s much easier to get track time there than Manchester.
