Why this sport? |
Hockey was introduced to me by Pauline Cathro who was my teacher at the time - she had strong connections with Dundee Wanderers so it wasn't long before I started attending training. I loved it right from the start, we played a lot of mixed hockey - I guess I had a pretty good start as I was lucky enough to play with some really talented boys who were representing Scotland on a regular basis - Niall Stott, Alan Johnston, Chris Jaimeson for example. I think that had a huge influence on my hockey career. At that time Dundee Wanderers didn’t have a ladies team - so the logical step was to play for Bonagrass Grove. With players like Pauline Stott, Ali Ramsay and Sue Fraser it was hard not to want a taste of what they had achieved" |
