COMMONWEALTH GAMES GOLD MEDAL He became the second Tanzanian athlete to win a Commonwealth Games marathon gold medal, after Gidamis Shahanga. (thisday.co.za, 28 Sep 2010)
CHARITY He has been a part if various humanitarian projects, such as the 2006 World Food Programme walk, which he led. This programme was in aid of fighting child hunger. The five-day walk included climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. He said, "In the 21st century, the most important thing for a child is to learn to read and write.
