She was embarrassed by her performance at the 2011 World Championships where she finished second last in her heat. At the time she was unaware of a hip injury she had which restricted her ability to change pace. She credits her husband and coach, Ricky Soos, with supporting her mentally. "He is with me all the time so he knows how much it means to me. He experiences every single thing with me so he sees that disappointment from Daegu, how much it meant to me and how destructive it was. He's really good at focusing his efforts in building me back up emotionally and mentally which is something that doesn't just happen in a one-hour meeting with a regular coach."
