FROM INDONESIA TO SINGAPORE
Along with Wandri Saputra and Hendra Wijaya he left Jakarta's Jaya Raya Badminton Club in 2000 to join the Singapore Badminton Association's [SBA] foreign talent scheme. In 2004, Hendri and Hendra - both Singapore permanent residents by then - were sent back to Indonesia after failing their fitness tests. The SBA relented when the duo asked for a second chance and both returned to Singapore in October that year and eventually passed the fitness tests in early 2005.
