WRONG NATIONAL ANTHEM She was involved in an event faux pas after winning gold on the first day of the 2010 Commonwealth shooting championships in India. After stepping onto the podium and collecting her medal with team-mate Annuraj Singh, the Australian anthem was played instead of the Indian anthem. This controversy happened even after officials had been seen rehearshing the passing out of medal in the presence of the winners themselves. (India Times, 20 Feb 2010) |
