| Other information | TEAM OFFERS Since she announced her return to cycling in late 2015, she has received multiple offers from teams looking for her to ride for them professionally. "I've had offers to come back and it's been nice, but I don't want to commit to a team if I then don't make Team GB for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Basically, if I'm selected for Rio then I'm compromising my triathlon career for two months. The transition from triathlon to road racing is very hard." (Twitter profile, 08 May 2016) RETIREMENT AND COMEBACK She retired from cycling and switched her focus to marathon running and triathlon after the road race at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. She had already considered retiring after the 2012 Olympic Games in London, but decided the Commonwealth Games was the right time. "It's a big event, it's almost at home and I want to go out properly and have no regrets. I'm 31, which is a good age for endurance sports, and I'm sure I can do better in triathlon if I focus on it." In December 2015 she reversed the decision to aim to win the time trial event at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. "I have no desire to go to the Games and sacrifice some of the most exciting triathlon races of the season just for the experience of another Olympics. I am committed to aiming for gold."
