FOUNDATION In 2010 she co-founded the Love Mercy Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation to support agricultural projects for women in Uganda whose lives have been affected by civil war. She was inspired after meeting Ugandan middle distance runner Julius Achon in Portland, OR, United States of America, as she tried to recover from injury in time for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Achon's story of escaping life as a child soldier in Uganda to becoming an Olympic athlete, and his charity work in his homeland convinced her to start her own foundation.
