BREAK FROM HOCKEY
Johnson thought about retiring from the sport after tearing her hamstring in a practice match against Argentina on the eve of the Beijing Olympics. "It was a very challenging time. Terrible timing. It was a very hard thing to deal with." Soon after the Games, she backpacked through East Africa and Israel. "I was trying to make a decision about my career and I was upset. For three months, there was no talk about hockey. It was good to get away from it all and take some time. Hockey - it was hardly even mentioned and that was great."
