Why this sport? She competed in athletics throwing events, but was told she was good at weightlifting while working out to improve her throwing. She initially did not enjoy the sport but changed her mind after taking part in some national competitions and qualifying for the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, VIC, Australia. "I had the opportunity to meet high-level weightlifters and saw the sport differently. That is when I fell in love with weightlifting and it motivated me to go further."
