| Other information | QUITTING SCHOOL He left school in 2006 to focus on his athletic career, after he returned from the world cross-country championships in Japan. "It was my first trip abroad. I had never thought I would board a plane. I came back happy having competed with Kenensia Bekele. After that experience, I felt that I needed to add more effort in training. That's when I told my parents I would not join senior year. They were so furious but I packed my bags, went to Iten, and left them fuming." (iaaf.org, 29 Jul 2011) |
