During the semifinal against Netherlands at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, she was accidentally hit on the head by the stick of opponent Ellen Hoog, who was attempting a shot at goal. She was left with blood running down her face from a wound, but despite the injury she returned to the match after receiving stitches, staples and heavy bandaging around her head.
