Other information BREAK AND RETURN
She took a break from cycling after the 2012 Olympic Games in London, but was lured back in 2014 by the changes in Canada's national cycling programme, which included the hiring of national sprint coach Erin Hartwell, the construction of a world-class velodrome in Milton, ON, and the possibility of having a team sprint partner. She has cycled with Kate O'Brien, a former national bobsleigh team member, since May 2014. "I did not intend to come back. I thought I was done, but then I started to miss it. It all came together serendipitously. I came back and I started hearing rumours about this bobsleigh girl Kate who was trying it out and I got really excited." SOLE FEMALE SPRINTER IN LONDON
She was the only female sprinter on the Canadian cycling team at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. She was coached by former Olympic sprinter Tanya Dubnicoff at the beginning of her career, but they separated a few years before the 2012 Games, which left her preparing her own training regime ahead of London.
