LONDON PREPARATION After spending seven years playing club hockey for Rotterdam in the Dutch league she moved to England in June 2011 to focus on training with the Great Britain squad. Unlike the rest of the Great Britain squad, she decided not to join an English club for the 2011/12 season. "I figured it would be difficult to go along to a club just on a Saturday and miss the training because our Great Britain commitments would not allow us to be there. It would feel weird to me because I would be just turning up at the weekend and not be available for every game." (walesonline.co.uk, 19 Dec 2011) |
