CAPTAIN Being appointed captain of the Australian team in 2013 initially came as a surprise to her. "I absolutely had no thought that I was even a possibility to be honest. I was urged along with probably my family and Lisa and Rose to put my hand up for the position. I just burst out crying [when I found out], I truly did. I was just so emotional." (abc.net.au, 20 Aug 2013)
REGIONAL NETBALL CLINICS She enjoys running netball clinics in Australia where she encourages young girls to get into the sport. "I'm so excited to be running clinics in regional areas of Queensland. I know there are lots of young little stars out there, but I felt that there are not always as many opportunities for netballers who live outside of the cities." (sportzscene.com.au, 9 Mar 2013)
CLOTHING RANGE In July 2011 she launched a sporting apparel clothing line. "When designing the new range, I wanted the clothes to be bright and fashionable, yet at the same time practical for young netballers and I feel that we have achieved this." (firebirds.net.au, 18 Jul 2011) |
