Sporting philosophy / motto "The best advice I was ever given was to find my passion and pursue it. I really believe if you have a passion for what you're doing and you really love it, you'll always be able to work through the obstacles and find your best potential. My advice would be to love what you are doing. Try to hold onto that enjoyment." (liv-cycling.com, 09 Feb 2019)

HORSE RIDING ACCIDENT
In her final year of school in 2003 she was involved in a near-fatal horse riding accident. She fractured her skull in the fall, and was in a coma for 10 days. "The prognosis was really bad. They said I wasn't going to finish school, and I'd never be the same person, and all those kind of things which I think neurosurgeons have to say, and I think I was really determined to prove everybody wrong. This happened in June, and by the end of the year, October, I had managed to make a miraculous recovery, and I wrote my final year exams. I passed all seven subjects with distinction. So it was really quite an incredible life-changing event." (liv-cycling.com, 20 Oct 2019; ashleighcycling.com, 10 Apr 2016; podiumcafe.com, 17 Jun 2014)
