Injuries During England's final match of the tournament, against Belgium, at the 2014 World Cup in The Hague, Netherlands, she injured both the anterior cruciate [ACL] and medial collateral [MCL] ligaments in her left knee. The injury required a full reconstruction, and during her rehabilitation, she sustained a stress fracture. In total she missed 11 months through injury.
