"It really was a special moment and I still feel very privileged to have been a part of it. I've still got my torch and it will always bring back memories of a brilliant year." BILL In the lead-up to the 2012 Olympic Games in London, she received a 1,500 GBP council tax bill from Bristol City Council, after she opted to spread the final year of her law degree at Bristol University over two years. She made the decision to allow a fuller training schedule with the Great Britain team, but with reduced attendance she was reclassified as a part-time student and lost her exemption from council tax. Her parents wrote to the council explaining the circumstances but were told that an exception could not be made, prompting her father Robert to call the council 'completely unsupportive and unreasonable'.
