| Other information | DENGUE FEVER SCARE He and fellow cyclist Somvir Malik were admitted to hospital with what was first feared to be dengue fever. Dengue Fever has swept through Delhi claiming many lives leading up to the 2010 Commonwealth Games. K Shah head PR officer for the team said, "Yes, they had dengue. Vinod was in hospital for the last few days and he was discharged yesterday. Somvir is still in hospital, receiving treatment." But this conflicts with that their coach Chayan Chodhury has claimed, she insists "There is no truth in these reports. Yes, we had admitted Somvir and Vinod to hospital but Somvir had viral fever. Vinod had only shown symptoms but he was not diagnosed with dengue." The diagnosis was slow due to the team having no doctor at the time.
