Why this sport? She was inspired to take up the sport after watching Indian shooter Tejaswini Sawant win gold at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, VIC, Australia. Although rifle shooting was more popular, she took up pistol purely for convenience. "Wearing the suit and setting up the equipment in rifle shooting was too cumbersome for me. So I picked up the pistol where I could shoot wearing my jeans and t-shirt."

Injuries In 2013 she sustained an undisplaced fracture of the radial head of her elbow after falling on her right arm. The injury went undiagnosed for a period and she competed through pain before starting treatment in 2016.
