HISTORIC ACHIEVEMENT She became the most successful Scottish female athlete at a single Commonwealth Games after winning two gold medals and a bronze at the 2010 Games in Delhi, India. At the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow she became Scotland's most decorated athlete at the event by taking her tally to a total of five medals. (Facebook page, 12 Jun 2016; dailyrecord.co.uk, 01 Nov 2013)
PRESSURE She did not perform at the level she had hoped to at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, and believes part of the reason was the pressure of shooting in front of a home crowd. She worked with a sports psychologist ahead of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, to ensure she was better prepared. "Normally that attention energises me and has a positive effect, so for it to become a negative thing was completely unexpected." (scotsman.com, 21 Jul 2013)
