Why this sport? |
His talent was spotted by a teacher who saw him running to retrieve a softball. When a hurricane destroyed his school in 2008, another of his teachers, a Jamaican named Neil Harrison, persuaded his mother to enrol him in Munro College, a Jamaican boarding school with a strong sports programme. He went with Harrison to Jamaica at age 14 on a scholarship from the Turks and Caicos Islands government. |

GREAT BRITAIN PASSPORT His native country of Turks and Caicos Islands is a British Overseas Territory so its citizens are entitled to a full UK passport. He was granted his UK passport in March 2012. As Turks and Caicos does not have its own National Olympic Committee, he would have been unable to represent them at an Olympic Games. So he decided to make the switch to Great Britain. In June 2013 he completed the process of changing allegiance, making him eligible for Great Britain selection in all international competitions.
