He has suffered a raft of injuries that hampered his performances. In 2006, it was discovered that he had a stomach hernia at a training camp in New Zealand - which eventually got removed in Queensland, Australia. He was also unaware about breaking his wrist at a British swimming camp in 2005. One of this wrist bones was in half and in an deteriorative state.
