FOUR-STOREY FALL In 2004 in Slovenia the then 17-year-old fell four storeys [nearly 35 feet] from the M hotel in Ljubljana after opening a window and resting his hands on a safety bar that gave way. He then tried to grab a second bar, which also collapsed, causing him to fall. His gymnastic skills kicked in and he performed a mid-air somersault to right himself before bracing for a "regular gymnasts landing" as he landed on a corrugated roof. Miraculously, he only suffered a broken ankle and a cut to his armpit. The doctor who operated on his ankle said he could have died had his gymnast skills not been put into practice.
