| Other information | COURT ORDER On 01 October 2010, he formerly sued Sri Lanka Athletic Association [SLAA], its President, Palitha Fernando, Secretary, P.D. Pinnawela, Team Manager Chandana Ekanayake, the National Olympic Committee President Hemasiri Fernando and fellow Sri Lankan runners Prasanna Amarasekra, K. K. V. Senarath, U. G. Wickremasinghe, K. K.K. Seneviratne, R. D. G. N. Karunaratne after he was omitted from the 4X400m Sri Lankan relay team for the 2010 Commonwealth Games, despite finishing third at the national qualifiers. Defendant SLAA officials refuted the allegations claiming he was prevented from participating at the Commonwealth Games based on disciplinary grounds for refusing to participate at a fitness trial.
